Wenceslas Square 64

The house on Wenceslas Square 64 “U Muzea”, a modernist seven-storey multifunctional house from 1938 on the upper part of Wenceslas Square in the very centre of Prague. The entrance to the vestibule of the metro station “Muzeum” is built directly into the house.

The building from 1938 is directly connected to the three-storey house of the same descriptive number from the end of 19th century in the courtyard garden, which was the first Prague maternity hospital. The entire courtyard tract was in the first half In the 20th century, it was converted into an apartment building with 9 units, whose atypical floor plan (rooms behind each other with windows oriented to the same side) corresponds to the original purpose of the building.
